Since I had some time off from school, we thought that it would be fun to cruise to Catalina and Ensanada, Mexico. We had so much fun! I am so glad the we got to go and that Ry could come. However, just before we left, poor Ry got his first ear infection and sore throat. He had to be on antibiotics the whole trip but he was amazing, as always. He loved every bit of the trip. He is such a laid back kid. He loves to just hang out and enjoy the adventure! I am such a lucky mommy!

Chris and Ry as we sailed away from LA.

Papa Whiteman

Main Floor of our ship, the Paradise. We were getting ready to take a ferry to Catalina Island.

The Paradise from the ferry. You can see another ferry just before the ship. Each ferry holds about 50 people and our ship had 2, 500 guests.

Catalina

This is a rare picture...Chris with NO sunglasses.
Ry taking advantage of the sweet, relaxing weather in Catalina. It was 80 degrees at most.

TERRIFIED! This is what Ry thought of the ocean...maybe next year.

Ry was very popular and made lots of new Friends! This is some of Chris's family- Kayko, Derek, and Alisa.Enjoying a spoon right before the floor gets it.
He goes right for the teeth...like mommy.
Grandma celebrated her birthday on our trip! Happy 59th birthday grandma! Grandma has got some great legs for a 59 year old!

Ry making more friends!
Ensanada

Why am I the only one paying attention?? I am in trouble aren't I? We drove to LA rather than flying. Actually, it was a really fun road trip. We left at four in the morning so Ry could sleep most of the way. It worked out perfect and Ry had a great time traveling!

First time swimming! Ry loved it and so did Chris and I. We had so much fun watching him play in the water!
I guess this means I have to go swimming more often.

Ry had all four limbs in constant motion, splashing in every direction. I am so glad the he liked swimming. After the encounter with the ocean, I wasn't so sure it was going to work out!

I think this picture depicts Ry's personality so well...just taking life easy...
and raising an eyebrow to something interesting.

Wahoo, we got to go camping again! I was so excited to go this time. Wow, such a relief to only worry about what we were going to have for dinner and not about what book I had to study from or some paper nagging at me to write it! I LOVE being home to be with Ry and Chris. It is so nice to hold what I have been missing. Ryu is full of adventure and squeezable cheeks! He is just so irresistible! LOVE IT!
Ry's sweet camping chair.
This time...mommy let me taste some dirt. Definitely better than some things she makes me eat...peas, YuCk!
These are the cheeks I am talking about!
DUCKS?
Chris and I thought that it would be fun to take Ry to Salem pond to check out the ducks... turns out that playing with a napkin and a sippy cup is much more fun that watching the ducks!

Trying out a straw is also WAY more cool than looking at girlie ducks.
Cold...
Well, I guess swinging with mom was pretty cool too!

P.S. Ry is crawling and says dada! Ahhh! How is this happening??
